Glad you guys are ok Tex and that the truck isn't too bad! You gotta get it ready for the Beehive Classic!

Torian, we grabbed the fuel pump and turned around and you guys were gone........glad it fired back up! Your "I hate desert racing" rant along with hammering your truck out of frustration was epic!!! Hope the motor isn't bad and you guys make it to the short course race also!

WOW! Is what I have to say what a day of racing. We started off the race more prepared than ever before. Honestly we had the truck done a month ago. I have never been prepared like this before usually we are scrambling the night before you all know how it is.
Well we get out there Thursday and find the whole place roped off, that sucked. We managed to find one little piece of desert that had all kinds of hair on it. (Hair by the way means it wasn’t Ideal) I brought out the 650 to prerun but quickly realized that I am way too fat to prerun on that thing so it became my pit bike. Thursday night Bret took me in his truck from the second trestle to the finish. That was the extent of my prerunning.

Race day our plan was simple cruise and let the first two laps come to us. Well all was going as planned until about RM 10 when I started getting passed by other 1450 trucks! Frustrated I through the game plan out the window and let caution get carried away by the crazy wind. I started pushing way too hard and found myself getting the wheel ripped out of my hands as I went into a square ditch. Thankfully the truck wasn’t broke and the jolt woke me up. I remembered that the race isn’t going to be won on the first lap and I needed to revert back to the plan! So driving at like 5mph because I couldn’t see, eventually through the dust I see the trucks that passed me DNF with all occupants out inspecting the damage. Being somewhat vindicated we got our MOJO Back and stuck with the game plan the rest of the day.
Hats off to 1466, we diced it up with him for laps 2 and 3. I passed him then he came around me for a while till I got around him and then checked out. Really fun racing!
At the beginning of lap 3 as I was coming through the main pit area we got a little out of shape. On one of the impacts my seat broke. So laps 3 and 4 I was holding myself up the whole way. That really sucked. The Time has come for some solid seats.
Huge thanks to my good friend and Truck builder BUFF HERMAN Who is coming back to us after a long Hiatus. When he preps my truck I know it will be right. Jamie Deltiempo who helps Buff Prep thanks dude! I want to thank DANZIO for tuning my little 302 so well. That little motor gives it all. Culhan Transmission never gives me trouble. King Shocks the only truly bolt on and race shock company out there. Thanks to all the TT drivers who sell there used BFG 39”s to me. Even though I lost 30 HP running the bigger tire the loss is way worth the other gains they provide. Hey Todd I would love to buy your used 42” HA HA! My co driver Sean Kepler, even though I caught him sleeping twice he is one of the best right seaters out there and one of the best shock guys around. Hey 1450 guys if Sean hasn’t tuned your shocks you’re not at peak performance. Last but not Least Bret my Nephew the MAN behind the scenes and all our friends on the radios you know who you are!

Those dam silt hills were death after the 1st lap.

As for Darren87, not sure if you remember or not, but 2nd lap we were right with you for about 10 miles i would say. A TT passed us both, and kinda dusted us out. We were in a Black and Orange 5/16. Your truck was workign well, We didnt wanna get stuck in your dust so we tried to keep up with you and had a really good pace going, i think you got caught in our dust cause we lose you, but that was fun! It was our fastest lap and we were 50-60mph the whole time....

Only problems we had was right from the start our throttle cable kept sticking wide open, we would either have to shut down and use the foot to pull it back, or pull it back fast enough with the foot. LOL. Besides the silt, that track was a blast!

And to the few idiots driving around on the course (we saw a few) Do us all a favor and stay home next time. Not only was it stupid for you to be driving on the course when there are designated crossing areas, but your dust was not helping either. I know BLM was pulling alot of people over, which is onyl bad news for the sport.

BTW, Results are posted on SNORE's site!!!!!
Good job! We lost the trans 30 miles in. Rear start was fun. We caught the 6 that started right in front of us in the first 15-20 miles. I was gonna tap you guys when I caught you but the course opened up and was able to get around. Good fun all around. Bummed about losing the trans.

LMAO i was waiting for the tap, that area you caught us was a maze with the dust, there was car's all over. Our throttle stuck wide open right off the line so we lost some time having to shut it down. Once we say Berry (big fish) and you down, we kinda went for a more moderate pace knowing the only other can in points was Boone. I think we have a good hold on 2nd place right now.

Awesome race and weekend for me, was my first race since the night race. Laid real low and far off the course and had a great time. Put a ton of miles on my bike too. Did see a douche bag come in hot and heavy RG style and roll his Ranger on to its side. Was a Dad and daughter, and the daughter wasnt strapped in tight enough, she was out for a little bit and shook up, but ok. Just another reminder to be safe.

that black truck on its side was me 1449. what a shitty incident the narrows was so soft that i had to hold the the throttle to the floor to keep from getting stuck and when the fork in the road came up we hit that huge whoop rite before and the front end shot in the air 4' atleast causing us to proceed straight up the hill. as we got to the top i could not see anything on the other side so we decided to just roll down slow, bad idea lol! it slid us to the right and at the bottom was a little wash out that sucked in the passenger side causing the truck to slowly go on its side. that had to be the slowest tip over i have ever encountered. thanks to the gentlemen with the jeep and winch that put us back on all 4 and pulled us out. we waited for more atf to show up .atf leaked out of the tranny fill tube from being on its side. then the steering was out of whack so bad we adjusted it just enough to limp it back around completing the second lap to call it a day. my hat goes off to all that finished. i was surprised to see that race ate up 4 tt and 4 class 1. great job everyone

Youre welcome Jerry, from us Buff and me (Jaime).. wheres our bouns? hahaha.. but yeah, next time lets be little more prepared with the radio situation, and pit crew supplies. It is what Buff and I were a little stressed out by.. But at least the truck stayed in one peice, other than the seat, i think its about time for new seat! No flat tire, no breaking limit strap, and no mechanical issues.. Lets keep up with preparing ahead of time not last mintue from on now. I had to work on mothers day, along with Buff too! Good times, great race, its been a while since Buff and I had been out to the race. So I think its time to start going more races together.

By the way, thank you for putting name on the sides.

welp here is our race recap,

last off the line dad came by like 6th or something after the first lap, second lap he got stuck killed some time but still well placed. Third lap i jumped in and made it to the tressle when the tierod broke, didnt even hit anything big just popped right under the rail road tracks. I pulled her off the track and pretty much called it a day, when my dad came over the radio asking if we wanted to weld it and keep truckin, so after some deep thought we said EFF it lets go for the finish. we were down about an hour or so then we were on the road again. The tires on the truck (old ass goodyear GSAs) were just about balled after the race which probably explained our lack of traction and speed in the flats and the sand. Overall a frustrating weekend but hey we finished 6th and had a great time seein everyone!! RATR is next for us, keep an eye out for some major major upgrades.

Also thanks to Sonny at DownSouth Motorsports for making our truck haul butt!!!

Well we ran 7s class # 7157 and had a pretty good day, some overheating in the silt no suprise there and we launched into the air and when we landed we had a bent rim in two places and a blown tire
But the Desert gods were looking after us, there was a couple of Guys sitting there with an air tank and impact they changed out tire in a few momets and sent us on our way
Thanks to who ever you guys were
Got stuck once or twice and missed the detour around MM38 hill but we got through.
Timed out after finishing the 3rd lap so that was our day loved this course it had a lot of everything. hope the BLM went home happy
We Pitted with Bro Dozer and Tex Torian and Vance as well as a few others HRT racing Thanks for the prerun trip thursday
So we got to meet a bunch of really cool folks
Thanks Snore for bringing it back to PC
and KEN and Steve and Diana Desert Dirt Dogs, for inviting me to co-dawg Fun Times

Being our first race in PC we were not really prepared for the silt. We tried some new tires and they did not work at all! Went back to M/Ts and it was better. Still needed a much larger tire. Got stuck sooo many times, but reverse got us out. Had a good time, met new friends and tore up the dezert in our truck that looks stock (cuz it is). Special thanks to Landstrom Racing for support.
Hope we keep that area open. Now that I know what to expect, the next trip should have better results.
The way i see it.....if you keep fixing things, eventually you will have a new truck.

hmm id look into racing the mall crawler class. its a new class built just for your type of vehicle.....but be sure to carry your onboard welder cus those speed bumps can wreak havoc on your fail of a chassis or unibody as those in the know call it. good luck!
