    I'm going for sure.

The celebrity modified cart race sounds like it will be pretty sweet.

    Hello Drivers,

As you know, Round 1 of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series – Southern California is set to kick off Saturday April 2nd at Glen Helen Raceway. Below is some general information to help you plan for the event:

-The schedule along with a lot of other valuable driver info has been posted at Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Racing . In order to save time at the track, you can print entry forms & transponder rental agreements right from the website and bring them to the track with your cash or check payment ready to go! Gates will open at 2 pm Friday for move in. Admission is $10 and camping is FREE.

-Due to popular demand, we have added an optional Friday practice from 3:00 – 6:30 pm. In order to cover the cost of this practice, the fee will be $50. All safety gear is required and will be inspected.

-The Sunoco fuel truck will be on site. Please call Bill Rodriguez at 619-247-2798 to reserve your fuel.

-We are excited to welcome the following companies to our 2011 contingency program: Alumi Craft, GBC Motorsports, Hoosier, Kartek, Lucas Oil, Racer X, Redline Performance, Signpros and Ultra Boats. More companies are joining every day so continue to check the website for updates. Details and contingency forms will be available at registration.

-We are also pleased to announce that General Tire will be offering $4000 in end of the year points fund money to drivers in the following classes who run General Tires and appropriate stickers for at least 4 out of the 5 rounds of racing:

    Mini Stock Class:
    1st: $1000
    2nd: $750
    3rd: $250

    Camburg Mini Open Class:
    1st: $500
    2nd: $300
    3rd: $200

    Open V8 Truck Class:
    1st: $500
    2nd: $300
    3rd: $200

All of our racers may sign up for the GT racer discount program at General Tire - Off-Road and Performance Tires

    -Beginning with Round 1
We will be holding a Spectator Challenge to encourage teams to bring in fans and help us to make this a successful grass roots program. More information will come about this in another email.

Thanks for your continued support. Please contact us with any questions, concerns or suggestions.
Looking forward to seeing you all next weekend!

Registration & tech will be open Friday also so you can get everything handled then. If you print your entry form from the website and come with your check or cash in hand it should be a quick process. The practice will be informal: open sessions, probably about 8 laps each session, run in groups of similar vehicles, as many as we can get in during the 3.5 hours. If you want to run a session and get right back in line for the next session, you can do that, or run a session and then take a break for adjustments and come back out--whatever works for you. You should be able to get quite a bit of track time.

    FRIDAY:
2:00pm – Gates open for RV move in

    2:15pm -Media/Track Crew Safety Briefing

    2:30-6:30 Registration/Tech open

3:00-6:30 Practice ($50 fee to participate)

    10:00pm – Gates closed

    SATURDAY:
    6:30am – Gates open

    7-9:30am – Registration / Tech ($25 Late fee in effect after 9:30am)

    8:45am – Media/Track Crew Safety Briefing

    9:00am – Driver’s Meeting

    9:30-11:00am – Practice

    11:00am-1:00pm – Heat Races

    1:00-1:25pm – Track prep

    1:25-1:30pm – Opening Ceremonies

    1:30-5:30pm – Main Events

Nester has signed on as title sponsor of the Adult Trophy Kart class. He will be in control of all entries into this class.

This weekend, all registered drivers will receive one driving session to their local Pole Position raceway to hone their skills in addition to some other great bonuses provided by series supporters. General Tire has also signed up to provide some end of the year purse money for participating racers in specified classes.

Admission for Saturday's event is just $10 for the full day of short course off road racing action on the famed Glen Helen short course off road track. Come on out and cheer on some of the sport's brightest stars as well as the future stars of short course off road racing.

Is the entry fee really only $150 for 1450? If that's true I might really be interested in this once the truck is back together...

I have pictures on my site from the race.
It looks like it would be good racing with a few more trucks out there plus at only $10 for people to get in it is cheap enough for friends to go and watch too.

Wow...good info. When I get the truck together I will really try and run a few races.

Side note: this had me looking at the Glen Helen website, I didn't realize they are running FOUR Baja Cup Challenge races this year...for those of you who haven't ran the Baja Cup races you're missing out. I plan on running both of these when the truck is up and running again.

Also, I am going to make a post on the racer area about this short course series...maybe we can peak some more interest in there?
