Thread: 2011 Tecate SCORE Baja 500

I went threw that accident about 10 mins after it happened and it was gnarly. I ended up rolling the race truck down a 150 ft cliff and still got 2nd. One of our superduty lost an egr cooler so I had to drive the prerunner home and tonelli took half our team back to the states for us. Pretty crazy race overall.

Haha I was thinking the same thing about halfway threw the race. I'm glad I went we had a lot of fun still.

Heard on the news that a spectator died in ojos Negros?

Went down with the General 7S. It was a long weekend. Trans pump took a shit on the trailer Thurs night, Fri I was running around getting parts and installing them. Truck was good about 6 PM Friday, went down to Ensenada, unloaded and promptly hit up Wilsons Tacos and headed back to Papaguayos for some sleep. Race day woke up and did a once over on the truck, got tacos at El Trailero, went to Ojos and adjusted a kickdown cable on the truck since it had no engine braking, went to RM 77, helped PAB out with his axle seals and gave him my tow strap since we always get kick downs from him. Adjusted torsions on the 7S there and then booked it to Borrego, got to the accident about 5 mins after it happened, road was blocked so we went back to Valley T to rendezvous with the rest of the team. Took off back to Borrego and went up towards Salada to radio relay and have an epic rock throwing contest in the middle of nowhere, pitted at Borrego with nothing but all my Harbor Freight generator, lights while it powered an iPod stereo blasting our theme song of the weekend, "Party Rock Anthem". Went back to Valley T and off to the Meadow, truck was losing all power. Got it over to the coast and while waiting at Ojos we called it quits. Motor had no guts to make it through the Uruapan silt hills and Hanna was way out front and we werent in the points running. Fuck the 3.0, its 3.4 time. Anyone on Baja Pits notice the gas was kinda iffy smelling? Might have been an issue as well but thats Baja. Had to break into our room at 3 AM since the Pacific guys had the key, got some sleep, more El Trailero and final tequila/beer purchases and it was off to the border. Love Baja and cant wait for the 1000.

race was great! got a good spot around rm10. got stuck in the beach, met "alexxj" form the forum, had great food, saw a great finish! hung out with robby and bj baldwin at papas nd beer. drank alot partied alot! everything was perfect until the next day when we were coming back home on the 5, some douche swerves to my lane and has me doing 360's on the freeway with traffic right behind me. Despite the accident, i couldn't of asked for anything else! I'll post pics tomorow.

RM64 roughly...me and my buddy were the only ones out there. No crazy mexicans and lil jump was ok. Ended up with Terrible Herbst TT49 stopping in front of us and changing a flat front tire and leaving it with me.

yeah, beadlock is fucked though...they hit a cemet base for a cattle guard gate and it bent the ring, ripping 4-5 bolts off the wheel and making a small gash on the tire. Tire has like 70 miles on it...looks brand spankin new but its useless
