Just checked the course out from last year. That does look like fun. Snore/HDRA don't seam appealing right now. Looks like I need to change my # though. The only guy already signed up in 12 took mine. This could be a good opportunity to see the pace you set Kevin. I know you guys run really hard.

This course format is alot of fun. I have raced it several times in a few different cars (2 in one race once). My brother and I locked this one down 100% last night so we will be there. As for the running hard comment I try to and sometimes its still not fast enough. Gonna be a fun one for sure.

Were planning on running,Heres my question. We have a ranger built to 7200 rules.but more seems to have no 7200 turnout. it has the stock frame to back of cab.then backhalfed. It was rolled over and since had a glass body put on.It has stock floor and.It has a stock 4.0 overhead cam motor with c4.We want to run 1400 would there be a problem?Another question is 1400 considered a pro class? Thanks kyle

Wouldnt want a repeat of the 500 when a glass cab 8 truck ran in 1400 for some race testing miles. Id post on Race Talk and get the OK from everyone, but as far as the rules are written I THINK you can replace the steel with glass if the truck was rolled and the class agrees to it to my knowledge.

not really he was talking shit on all of 1400 and was a prick about the who thing how we should "man up and race a real event in a real class..." he was going balls out and beat mike fox by 31min in a 500 mile race of which mike pulled over for 25min for cooling issues... NOT impressed by josh's truck or his attitude. if your just testing and running in a class you should pull over on your last lap and let the other people finish dont be a dick saying oh i won and go and claim the contingency for the win in that class.

Josh? As in Josh Thompson? I met him at the chili cookoff when I raced (and won by nearly 2 hrs) and he seemed pretty cool.

Didnt know that at all, my bad, thats probably why the thread on RDC blew up as much as it did after that race. I should be out there to lend a hand/bring ACM.

Trying to talk the locals out of RATR and into Toys for tots. Much better format, better course, probably more competition in all classes cheaper, less gas t get there, Slash X is better than the Choo-choo bar, and Bastow Del is in Barstow, not Laughlin. So far my quest to race a real race, not some bullshit tour of a parking lot isn't going very well.

I'll second Kevin's statement about the course layout. It is one of the best races I've been at as a spectator, and imagine it's lots of fun to race on too.

Excellent! You will like the format of this race as the classes are grouped by similar speeds. The means less time looking in the rear view mirror and more time looking forward. Plus, if you do have a problem (while on the small loop) the pits are closer.

There are two loops, little and big. The slower guys start in the little loop, do a few laps and then move to the big loop for a couple laps, the fast guys start in the big loop for a couple laps and then move to the little loop. The faster of the slow guys catch the slower of the fast guys in the big loop and the faster of the fast guys catch the slower of the slow guys in the little loop, makes for interesting racing. Also, as a spectator, you can hang out at the little loop and see constant action that's not just desert trucks flopping around a short-course track like Primm/Laughlin.

Very well put. It's a fun course that has a lot of very rocky technical sections and some very fast sections. Watching from when the 2 courses meet up is nice when they run it backwards.
It freezing cold and often times rains this race, for those of us with heaters, windshields, and wipers. that's no big deal just makes the course 43454x more fun. Just hope u don't have to get out to work on anything.

I'm going to be at this race for sure. I dont think I can afford to race it but I can't miss it. It's soooo much fun to watch where the two loops come together! Kevin, Marland or anyone need pit support?

I don't believe some of you realized how serious this has become if we don't have volunteers we don't have an event. below is Volunteers needed for next race. I have to have this covered by Wedneday next week to be turned in to the BLM. If not covered I have to cancel the race. There has been little responce for this race. If you are a team not racing now is the time to help.
for those who dont go on racetalk. Theres already another thread about, thought i'd post it up here as well
I don't always go to races...but when i do, i prefer dezert racing.

Sick as fuck on the volunteering. I thought I could still race BMX and came away with some fractures in the ribs and foot. Resulting in me being a big bleeding vag and not racing this one.
