im just gonan rent a truck from enterprise, get the insurance..... and race

this going to be a door to door race or time trials?

my vote is door to door racing

I think one of you guys needs to sit down for a little while, and type up some rules. It can't be a group decision. One person needs to do it. Amendments can be made if enough people agree on it.

I say Johnny is in charge of this since it was his idea basically. He can come up with a set of rules and then we can discuss them if needed.

One rule would be a claimer rule like mentioned where you can buy anyones truck for a certain amount at any time. That way there is no cheating going on.

Also would be funny to have a rule that you MUST sell your car after each race, to another racer or public.

buy at any time? thats lame. ill just buy a $50 pile and show up and buy the best looking truck then. why waste my time making one. should be for sale for the $750 price after the race...

Go back far enough and you get a full frame Cherokee with a stock 304 or 360 and 4wd...

go for it... ill be looking for an old 4 banger 5speed ranger or if cars are allowed a volvo 245 turbo wagon.

I'll sit down later tonight or tomorrow night and come up with a set of rules. I know people will disagree with me but I say no 4wd. It requires more skill to run stock 2wd truck than a 4wd. Also I say after the race, we all sell the vehicles and donate the proceeds to CORVA or any off road charity..

Actually now that I chink about this, my dad has an old 4x4 blazer that he has been trying to sell for some time now. And it runs

I think my teammate and I are going full size.

You can go just as fast in 2wd as 4wd... You just have to know how to drive. Also, is there going to be a limit as to how many people can race and who can race? I'm thinking this can get out of hand quick and don't want some punks getting it shut down before it even starts.

I'd like for this to be a DR only sub-event. No friends of friend type stuff, or people outside of DR being involved. If you're not a member, you're not eligible to be a part of the "Tough Rigs" competition.

I'd also like for DR as a whole to play a major role in this. Maybe I can work on getting some prizes for different categories we create. Something along the lines of, the "Go Big or Go Home" Award, shortest run, fastest stock truck, etc. Everything will be judged by chosen judges, who will not be biased, and will be along the lines of what Fish, Richer, and doubleG did this year.

Sounds like some good plans. The event this week was definitely biased though... Gotta find some non-DR judges for sure.

This started as... Lets run some beaters in tough trucks next year, now we're talking about racing.... where?

Are you guys talking about just heading out to the desert one weekend and racing?

I disagree. I scored my buddies no different than any other truck. In fact, I think I scored them lower due to the fact I thought they were going to go bigger.

Exactly, which is a type of bias.... Its fine, I'm not bagging, just saying we need some outside judges.

My impression was, this will take place at Tuff Trucks. It will be a sub-event for those who choose to take part from the site.

This whole thing was started in the tough trucks thread....

I was thinking we would just get some beater trucks and enter them on our own next year.... according to their rules and all, but then have whatever we want to do for DR on the side

i kinda noticed that.

as far rules, any cage on a truck is gunna put a pretty big dent in the $750 dollar limit. just something to think about.

i agree on having to sell or trade the truck after the race, will definately keep cheating to a minimum.

Im having issues trying to understand why you would have to sell the truck after the comp.

Why not let ppl keep it if they want?
Also, who would want to buy something that was beat to hell like were gonna do?

By Cage I"m talking about an A and B pillar with a cross brace on either side... mild steel, just something to protect the driver just incase.
