Thread: Eclipse GSX

have looked into getting a Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (or the Talon) and have seen that it clearly can be used for rally BUT what about drifting?

I know a guy who runs an STi as a rally car and just removes the front drive shafts and go drifting with it. anyone know enough about the GSX to know if I could basically do the same thing?

It would be a waste of gsx, get a 240sx and put an SR in it and you will have a much easier life.

wanted to do mostly rally with an occasional drift event so 240 wouldnt do me any good.

For some reason an eclipse just seems to low to me. I have been looking at buying one for about the last 5 years or so, just never pulled the trigger on one. I have offroaded the shit out of a 240, and it was fun on graded roads.

In my opinion if it's going to be a play toy, get one of these! My buddy took of one of these, slapped a good size turbo on it for super cheap.. This thing was haggard, but it ran good. Once it got going, we could get on top of the whoops and just skip across them.. It was completely stock minus the draw threw turbo setup.. The cool part was that it was 4wd not awd, so you could disengage it if you wanted to.. Throw oco it destroyed my green ranger, and definitely out jumped it..

and yea i know 240's are all the rage for drifting (i work for a drift team) but i kind of wanted to do something outside of the box. besides on the east coast the rallys are much more technical in terms of corners. awd/4wd sounds like much more fun instead of chasing the car the whole time.
