Thread: New Ventura fella

auto? pshhh keep it stick brohammer. twice as fun and takes more skill to drive.

brohammer? yes skill in driving... but do people actually race with a standard? i really want to get into racing it but im new to this sport.

i have built and tuned alot of import cars but this is my first actual attempt to build an american motor. so im lost at how or what to build on it. i just need advice on what to get and where or what direction i need to go with.

yeah people race with stick. and i dont know much about fords. if you are gonna swap it out, i hear the 4.0's are good motors. dont know what tranny to mate it to though

shit well i just pulled the head off mine...it been burning oil ...drained oil only got less than a quart out. so probably gonna be rebuilding the valves and seats and what not. hopefully it runs better after that. there is alot of carbon build up around the valves as well.

have you done a leak down test yet..was it smoking pretty bad

nope dont even know what that is... but the head is currrently at the shop getting torn down and cleaned up and rebuilt. new seats and gaskets etc.

losing all that oil i would also be throwing in a new set of rings while your in there

there gonna call me after they tear it down.

so i have a cracked head.. need to find a new one.

check a pick a part or wrecking yard. the 3.0s arent uncommon

It runs finally got it started. Just need to replace the valve cover gasket and we are set.

right on!

Ya so what I thought was a win. Must have been a fail in hiding. Started the truck today. And BOOM. Blew the motor won't crank can't even crank it manually. Well time for motor swap any ideas?

So got another 2.5l motor. With less miles than I currently have on my own. 77k. So this weekend I WILL, have this truck moving again. Anyone going to king of hammers? I got invited to go by a local shop to help them out. Just wanted to see if anyone else is possibly attending?
