You see, thats the problem, I wanted to put on these events so that I/we could see more of the dezert without having to follow course markers, I just want to go out and drive(insert 2 miles joke) and where I ended up is where I ended up.

Maybe its gotten to big for what I wanted, which isnt a bad thing, cause I like having 40 trucks making the trip.

I think the "blaze your own trail" idea was fine with the first Lucerne to Barstow, as the trucks were few. With the popularity of the last trip, this will only get bigger and more popular if it keeps up. This means organization is going to be the key to success from now on, or at least that is my opinion.

The route needs to be well thought out, with varying terrain. This is obviously going to take time, and more then likely a weekend by a few willing members. Map it out on a GPS, transfer it to a comp somehow, and print out a hundred or two.

You can take it a step further if you'd like, and map out a few checkpoints or stop points where we will ALL stop until the group has caught up. Everyone will check in, and we will do a check of those who have broken, and if they need assistance or not.

Like I said, these are only my views on what way the trip should go. Just an opinion.

i like the pre run idea...i would be one of those willing memebers, i just have 2 know when, i almost think we would need to routs because the stockers might not be able 2 make it where some of the better built trucks can...ya it would take some time, but honestly from my eyes, i was bored on the fire roads, it was fun, but to easy...

i have spoke to brian and i am trying to figure out a date right now...

    CLEAN UP
In my eyes one day will be a huge blow out clean-up... huge prizes during a free raffle for volunteers.... shocks, rides in race vehicles, fiberglass, wheels, tires, parts, dvd, shirts ect. Free bbq for all who attend.

    B2L
We have a mapped course for everyone with major turns marked on trail... Nobody can get lost this way... we will need to prerun mark with GPS. We cant trail blaze with 60 trucks. You make a wrong turn and you have to turn around 60+ vehicles isnt going to happen. Or get lost with 60+ on your butt not knowing where to go is going to be bad.

We have to set up in barstow, because that will be the location of the clean-up. Also its close to the freeway..... We will be doing a big bbq and everything.. So its easier to camp out there rather then lucerne. I am also hoping to have media coverage by some big magazines and websites for the clean-up and possibly the trip if we can work that all out...

Does this sound like something everyone would be interested in? It will basically be a big weekend of playing on the trails, cleaning up and winning some great prizes. I figured it would be the ultimate DR trip/get together.

That sounds awesome! I will see how things are going with RRP around that time and if we can we will donate some products(maybe RRP gift cards too) for the prize pool. We will help out as much as we can with planning and prerunning also, our new race truck will have 2 GPS units to help plot some routes this summer.

this is sounding REALLY good. Count BTF fab in for a weld-it yourself link kit in the prize pool.

also, I am more than willing to go help physically mark the course a couple weeks beforehand, or whenever. I know nothing about GPS & computer crap, but tell me where to hammer in a marker & I cna handle that.

i am working on that now. I am pushing for the weekend of the 20th... But have to talk to some people before that is set in stone.

The reason behind this date for me is the weather should be nice. not too hot not too cold. There is nothing going on this weekend at all. Only weekend like that in september... ONLY down fall is there is a MDR race and BITD race teh weekend after and a more race the weekend before....

Only other date i can think of would be OCT 25th... After that its going to get cold...

i agree... I looked at some of the dates posted for the L2B that brian posted.

Oct 4th is the weekend of offroad expo..... NO bueno

Sept 13th there is a more race

    Sept 20th nothing...

So i think some of these dates need to be rethought out a little better.

that i dont know... however now we are thinking about oct 18th. If we did it the 20th there is a race teh weekend before and the weekend after. Which would limit people from being able to go out... How does everyone like the 18th of oct?

I will be in Vegas for a wedding the 18th, all of October is out for me, I have weddings, my wedding anniversary, and the expo. I think the 20th would be ok, the guys that don't break at the MDR race can make it and the guys for the MORE can use it as a last minute testing.

In all reality, how many of the trucks that will be making this trip will be at either one of the races surrounding the 20th? If its a signifigant number than lets shoot for the 18th, otherwse lets go wit the 20th!

Besides me, who else doesnt care about the sand sports show? The only reason I go is cause I have free tickets, otherwise I wouldnt waste my time every year.

The way I look at it, the later into the month it gets the more time I have to get ready. Haha. 18th is good with me.

My truck SHOULD be alot different if money goes as planned.

Graduation money+usual paycheck+more hours (No-more school)= more money for truck.

Equal length and possibly 3-bar 3-link coming soon. I just wanna go fast.
