    Default wheel spacer pics

I know people frown on running wheel spacers but i know people on here run them. So post up your pics and details on what you have.
    I have a 99 f150 that has a 3.5" spindle & 33's. Thinking about adding around a 2" spring lift, 1.5-2" wheel spacer, 4.5" fenders and 37's. What do you think? Death......

keep it simple with what u have. bigger tires means more broken stuffs, more broken stuff means more money, more money equals more headaches..etc

^exactly my goal, just looks. Truck wouldnt be offroaded. Call me a poser but if people can except "lifted" trucks that done see dirt, whats the problem with making a truck look like a prerunner.

there was a guy on here recently who did what you want to do. some shop did the work, and the result was the 37s killed his wheel bearings, the snout broke, and he watched the tire pass the truck down the street. that was without wheel spacers too.

I appreciate the feedback but something doesn't add up with that story. Are you sure the shop didn't do something to cause a problem. I know of atleast 3 trucks on here running fabtech or cst kits on 37's. I know the spacers will cause alittle extra strain but will it really be that bad considering it will never see dirt?

i remember that too,the kid had like an 05 silvy 1500 and less than a month after he got it lifted with the 37s his snout broke and he had a shit ton of money to fix all the other broken parts caused by it..it was not the shops fault. it was cuz he put such large aftermarket parts on a truck with factory oem parts that werent built for that application. its just not a good idea.

my brother has had a spindle lift with wheel spacers on 37's on his 2005 silvy for two years now. no problems with wheel bearings or the snount. only problem he has had is tie rod ends wearing fast. If it goes offroad keep it slow though. i wouldnt risk it under abuse

Its looks so sick gnar who cares about safety. On a lighter truck or midsize with legit spacers its ok. I have a company I have been dealing with for years they make them hub and wheel centric which is the only way to go. They also offer a lifetime warranty and they are made custom built to order. Give them a ring Motorsport Technology 909-514-0091 My best friend ran there adapters on the front of his T100 with a choas kit for 5yrs and beat the shit out of it without a single problem. However they were only 1.5 thick. Personally anything over 2" is retarded and you will have issues.

keep up with your wheel bearings, check them often, repack/replace when needed and you should be fine. everyone talks shit on em and then you get in the dirt and tons of people have em. lol. they are just like any other part on your truck, it can break.

A buddy wants to run spacers in the rear of his truck(02 Tundra access cab), he wants to go with 1.5". He's running 33s right now, but wants to go to 35s. He'll be using rims with a backspacing that tucks the wheels in further towards the wheel well. Wants the front width to be as close the rear width as possible. Oh and it will see some dirt, nothing crazy, all fours wheels will never leave the ground at the same.

Would the rear be just as prone as the front to bearing failure?

    Nice bump from the dead.

I think it's safer to have spacers in the rear. You don't have hubs back there, and that's the main concern with spacers.

That's what I would think, but wanted to hear from people who actually run them in the rear. Hear all kinds of complaints and concerns about front spacers, but not many "reviews" on the use of rear spacers, specifically 1.5"

I'm running a two inch spacer in the rear on my ranger untill I get a bigger axle. Mainly cuz I'm 5.5 over in the front and without them it would look way to funny without them. My buddy has a Chevy 1500 and he's been running a 1 3/4 spacer in the front and also had another small spacer, I forget the size, but had them for almost three years now. Never broke a stud or had wheel bearings go bad. He does have his outta tie rod ends replaced with cognitio arms and hiem joints tho. But that's not cuz he was wearing out regular ones. And he's running a 38x15.50 tire and the truck get used off road quite a bit. Pismo. Snow. Mud. Everything. As long as its all done right you'll be fine

I think the stock snouts are stronger than some of the fabtech lift spindle snouts.

So is the verdict on wheel spacers a bad idea? I just had some factory Ford fx4 wheels powdercoated and they have a offset of like 5.5 which is making the 35s I have rub on the upper arm. I ordered some 1.25 wheel spacers because I was told it wont be as bad. Any suggestions? I'm scared of bombing on these things ha I've heard too many horror stories..
