not too keen about this kind of stuff. guy on one of the other forums i visit is selling these. They have 10k on them and are half the price because he needed new beefier springs for hauling. Is this normal wear for leaf springs and can i just rattle can these things? thanks in advance guys! heres the pics:

Rust is normal wear and tear. Wont affect anything performance wise. They do look very de-arched unless he bought them that way and had an over the axle setup.

wouldnt be to worried about the rust but they do look de-arched and did you say he ran those for about 10k miles, put them on see what happens you might need to re-pack them

My guess is if he is selling them because he needed heavier springs for towing, he probably towed with those for a bit and say that they were sagging? I'm not sure, are they entended to be used with extended shackles.....or just stock replacements. Other than the that, get some undercoating spray from checker (rubberized) so that it can give a little as the springs flex. Bed coatings and spray paint will just chip off due to the flexing of the springs.

IMO -> Even if they are de-arched, they are a great buy. Just take them to deaver and have them serviced. Those 2 costs together would be cheaper than buying a new set.

Depending on your truck set up you might like the lower stance (I have no idea though). For that price, get them and if you hate them get them serviced, still cheaper than a new set. Just my $0.02. Oh and the rust looks just like every set of springs I have ever seen!
