ok when people link there trucks and they put the fuel cell in the back, *what do u think would happent if sum one would rear end the truck hard with the cell in the back would the tubes bend in to the the cell and maby puncture it and spill gas every where? Or would the tubes sourounding the cell hold up and nohting would happen? has any one been rear ended with a cell in the back ? what do u think.

I suppose it's possible for a misplaced piece of tube to puncture your cell. I think it's more likely however, that if you were in an accident that the fuel bladder of the cell would deform (as it's supposed to) to rather than rupture.

yup, he's pretty much got it. Or you can run your fuel cell up against the cab and not have that problem, but it's your choice!

wherever your design permits and accomodates in most cases. some guys need weight back there and need it out of the way for trailing arms and shocks, it all depends but you gotta put it somewhere.

i'd prefer, and in most cases, it goes behind the axel to counter act the weight diffrences from the motor. thats how i would run it, and if i could i'd havea custom aluminum one made to bend and form around shit to make it get as much gas in there as much as possible. more gas = more weight = better ride...

Keep in mind, as gas is burned, you lose weight. Think about this, our cell is 32 gallons, so full its about 230ish lbs. Burn all of the fuel, you lose that 230 lbs. Handling will be affected, especially effecting the polar inertia of the vehicle..

well, that sounds great in theory........but on my truck, for example, i cant tell any difference in the way the rear handles from a full or near empty cell.............wierd but true....

sorry kinda off topic but....why do so many people insist on swapping out their stock tank for a race cell? most ranger tanks can hold 20 gals of fule and for a DD you wouldnt have to worry bout smog...just relocate it........
Why would you not run Twin Traction Beams?

a cell is much safer if you were to be rearended. the bladder inside the can will deform around the impact (for the most part); and the foam inside will slow the leak. Plus, most fuel tanks are long and narrow; meaning that they'll be a PITA to fit somewhere conviniently.

In my s-10, i can definately tell a difference in handling (turning) when the cell is fully loaded; The truck seems to have more understeer (because of more traction on the rear tires). bumps-i can't really tell a difference.
