Haha yeah I got 5 of them at an auction. Funny thing is they were all full of stuff. I thought I was getting a deal at $250. I thought $250 for all 5 awesome, well it was $250 each and still a smoking deal. I gave my friend only1mikey one of them when I moved to phoenix and he has it filled up. I used to have all the heims, grinding wheels, zip ties, etc in cardboard boxes and now it's all organized and easy to fine. I have another 2 like those in my semi trailer in storage since I don't need all 4 in the small shop I have right now. Best thing I did to them was bolted 2 together and mounted them on some heavy duty casters. My old shop they were in middle of the shop and was easy to roll them around if needed.
I've had a bunch of Vidmars over the years and bought and sold til I got what I wanted. Got a standard 30x30x60 and then a wide 45x30x60 for my "tool boxes" and then a shorty 30x30x30 that goes under the lathe for tooling and grinding disks etc. I think I ended up at like $200 each for mine after selling off the ones I didn't use and selling all the crap I didn't want out of them. I did keep pretty much a litteral ton of fasteners for the few I bought too. I got enough bolts I look like a fucking fastenal.
Ebay is your friend for vidmar/lista/lyon Barge. Lots seem to be out in the midwest for some reason.
OK so got the sway bar mocked up. It came with some delrin bushings BUT trying to run 2 pieces of tubing OR make the tube removable so I could remove the cell wasn't going to work. I know a few guys that have these same bearings and have had good luck with them so I went this route as well.
Well no work on it this weekend. I went to the clean desert cleanup on friday. Then drove home sat morning, and showered up and then rode with my mom up to San Jose to my uncles house for his annual party. Then this morning drove to a guys house to buy a 03 2500HD with a Lance cab over camper. The setup is perfect and the truck has a lift, new 37's on methods, but i will be getting 35's for it and swapping those out since they do rub a tiny bit with the campers weight when on the brakes and turning. Will be better for towing with 35's as well since it's got 3.73 gears and I don't want to regear the truck to compensate for the 37's
OK did the rear drum brakes on my daily driver toyota tercel today since they were grinding a little bit. Then I did a couple tubes above the fuel cell and made some tube clamps as well for that. Spare tires will sit on top of these tubes and on bottom of them will have some metal down to hold the fuel cell down and in place. Also added some gussets to the sway bar mounts as well.
