Forgot to post in here the last few days

Ended up getting the steering set up sometime last week

All clearing what it should clear for the most part

Got the beams pretty close to where they need to be so started on the firewall

Motor is offset a bit to the passenger side so one side is a little tighter but not too bad

Firewall x structure was constructed of 1.75 .120 4130

After laying out the firewall tubes I had a pretty good idea of how I wanted to lay out the tunnel.

Good clearance on everything. Headers will be pretty strait foreword and motor should be pretty easy to pull still.

Time to weld it all up

Some pictures after welding. I hate using the anti splatter spray because it discolors the tube but for some reason the settings I like to use produce a little bit of splatter.

Now that the firewall is laid out and welded in I can start paneling it in.

Started this on Friday morning.

A bunch of friends showed up to the shop at like 1 and we started drinking so I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked but it’s a good start. The paneling is laying out exactly how I wanted so far. This is all 3003 aluminum. For the firewall I will panel the inside and outside to get as close to a true “sealed cab” as possible.

That's smart to do a double layer at the firewall. It'll help with heat, too.

Just to give a better idea of how far back the motor is. Thanks mike for the mock up wheel and tire. But holy fuck dude that’s gotta be the heaviest setup ever....

I think this truck is going to work pretty well with the weight so far back. Should theoretically have some good front end pop

Nobody cares about this. Moar RedRocket updates.
Dude seriously tho... this thread is dead as fuck. Yet the thread for the shitbox we built in 9 days is going off like MySpace in 2006. Go figure let me see if I have any updates for that....

Awesome work & great progress!

I really like the trans tunnel center console structure.

Double-walled firewall is a good idea. Are you going to bead roll the panels?
