For starters, I should mention this is my first prerunner and my first serious build. I’m no fabricator and I’m not very experienced. Everything I learn is by first hand experience and reading through forum posts from 10+ years ago.

The truck: I was in the market for a ranger and ended up seeing a clapped out ‘99 Mazda B4000 with a 5 speed and 4wd, both of which I wanted. Ended up buying it with ~160,000 miles on it and took it home in December of 2020. First picture I have of the truck should be attached

As of June 2021 I’ve started to install my basic long travel kit from BTF fabrication, as well as fenders & bedsides from Fiberwerx.

I am using a 2.5x10 coilover with remote reservoirs, compression adjusters, and a dual spring rate, made by Locked Off-road.

Started mocking up coilovers tonight. Looks like upper mount is going to be 12” off the frame rail. Brandon @ btf recommended a 2.5x8 but I went with 10’s for the dual rate.

Still need to tack tabs to some scrap and cycle everything. Hoping to have the truck on its own weight by Sunday night.

a single spring would have been the same or better. you probably wont use much of the dual rate anyhow if the shock mounts on the arm are staying as BTF designed.
