jeepkart 3.0? operation plug and play

after the fire my 2 jeepkarts are kinda in a state of disrepair.



i am thinking about getting the 3rd gen and largest built right when the shop is working good enough
this time a very linear drivetrain for simplicity and robust 2WD
street bike motor again with drive shaft to a differential
anyone have experience with these bikes????


my 2 candidates so far

yamaha vmax 1200
shaft drive is nice and low
narrow foot print under the hood

the second choice is the honda st1300 or ctx1300
shaft drive is kinda hi up
V pattern would be cool under the hood

nissan rear diffs are pretty cheap on ebay and likely unbustable from the engine
drive shaft is real easy to make
i can flip this over to get the correct forward rotation
offset would be easy to make in the live axle sections

Shaft on the right side like the Honda will rotate the correct direction.

Also, some of the big cruiser V twins would make good choices. They are very torquey.

Yes, Honda and Kawi both make them. They are less miserable for most builds so they are priced better. Casey Currie had a Rhyno with a VTX1800 in it.

thinking nissan murano rear diff
5.17 gears
cheap
get rid of viscous coupler and us direct yoke of some sort

ditch the side gears, then make live solid axle pass through real snug to the ID. of the carrier.
then just weld sleeves to make the diff seals and weld a drive lug to the axle in the carrier
