69yo owner of 2016 Yamaha YXZ. Came on here to learn . RZR forum bragged about you guys.
Currently teaching my self about shock valving on the yxz . Have fixed a bunch of issues with the original setup and looking to improve on it.
Mostly ride El Mirage and Johnson Valley. Just me and the wife.

What i suggest on shock tuning is get a vise on your trailer and stuff to change valving when out in the desert. When you "ride" as you call it although most would call it drive. Tear apart the shocks and change something and go see how it does. You will see what changing shims does for the ride and adjust from there. Thinner shims = softer compression and faster rebound. Thicker = opposite. Tear into it and keep that golf cart rubber side down and have some fun.
