your story of building that bike inspires me to do the same with my son when he's ready. he's definitely got the knack for taking things apart and figuring out how they work.
I made him spend his Birthday money on parts. When we sold it he made $46 off all the work he put in. Not a lot of money but we spent time together in the garage, he turned some wrenches and he was super stoked on making $. I was prepared to throw $40 into the sell price if we had to sell it cheap but luckily we found someone who liked it and paid full price.

Sorry to go off topic. Patches looking good. I have done nothing but drive my truck. The parts pile is getting bigger so eventually I am going to have to start throwing all these extra parts at it.

^^ Shanks. I'm hoping I can blend it good enough to where you might not even notice there is a patch.

only got 30 minutes last night... but enough time to annoy you with two lame photos!

I think I was off the same way again...even though i tried to compensate! Still should work. Need to get this shit done like stat. Rust is getting bad

Been looking at seats ... Gonna go with a hard pan seat this time. For comparison purposes below, a Mastercraft 3G seat is 26lbs.

Leaning towards the Impact Genesys at the moment. Read some stuff about UPR pads being a great addition too. Anyone have anything to add here?

Here is my research so far:

MasterCraft:

Impact Genesys:
16 lbs. / $825
https://www.mastercraftsafety.com/performance-seats/racing-seats/impact-genesys-seat.html

Impact HSC-1: Mr. big baller carbon version. Too much $$ though.
Only 13.25 lbs!! / $1,799!!

Or the Sparcos:

QRT-R:
15.65 lbs. / $875
https://www.sparcousa.com/product/qrt-r

QRT Carbon version:
14.11 lbs. / $1,195
https://www.sparcousa.com/product/qrt-c

QRT Luxury version…these are nice in Italian leather and Alcantara! I mean, that would be pretty cool...But still too much at $1,375?
No weight but I assume around 17-18lbs / $1,375

Then there are these PRP’s too … not sure if wide body is needed or not. Not the hugest fan for some reason. And seat is getting on heavier side compared to others…

PRP Alhpa:
21 lbs. / $889

These Necksgen are my least favorite: (apparently made by Racetech)

Necksgen 1000 Cheapest option out there…but not a big fan:
19.5 lbs. / $690
https://www.necksgen.com/competition-seats/p4120-1000-series

Necksgen 4009. More expensive and even uglier version. Heavy too:
24.8 lbs! / $1,090
https://www.necksgen.com/competition-seats/p4118-4009-series

Racetech:
Funny how.. if you look at the picture of shell above… The Necksgen appears to be their cover on a Racetech 4009 composite shell!
24.3 lbs! / $1,090
