upper arm specs?
Tube: 1.25x0.090” square mild steel tubing
Bungs: muffstuff hexagonal 3/4”
Heims: ruffmuff 3/4”
Misaligns: shitty cad plated ruffstuff cheapies
Tabs and Material above spindle uniball: 3/16” P&O steel

My quickie fixture can be seen in these pics; 2x2x1/4” angle with 3/4” holes drilled for the heim locations on the frame side, and a spacer for the uniball spindle side. Tacked that bitch to the table with silly silicon bronze.

Fuuuuuck, the lack of tapatalk is goddamn frustrating... deep breaths... hopefully it gets better with updates.

The rear part of the arm contacted part of the engine cage at full bump, so I cut that bastard apart and added another miter:

I'm in love with the simplicity of those uppers! Didn't even think of square tubing and miters! Are the tube inserts welded 360 though? Or just where they contact?
The bungs will be welded all the way around after I cycle the front end another 69 times. I still need to add a bunch of plating on the arm for bump strike pads and miter gussets.

Ive been contemplating round or square for my uppers on my shit box. think im going round and bending them. No TIG to make the miters look good, all about that NIGing.

I think a mitered, MIG welded upper control arm would look fine. Fully beveling the joints at the miters would result in a lower profile weld.

I figured if I hate the way the tube arms turn out, I will cut out top and bottom plates that sandwich the arm and nobody will be able to tell that they were square tube.
