Shit seal. Sorry to bust your balls about leaking seals. I assumed that you knew better. Fuck you vatozone.

I hate this continual stream of bad parts.
There once was a magical time when parts dudes knew their shit and parts fit like they were designed.

Don’t apologize, it wouldn’t be DR without shit taking.

I do know better, but desperate times call for desperate measures!

I got an extra spicer seal now, of course I’ll never need it since I have it.

Needed to service the transmission and install a temperature sensor in the pan. Pulled the pan and inside of the trans was perfect, fluid was pretty used though. Of course the fancy exhaust I made blocked the pan from coming off🤦🏼‍♂️

Whipped up a quick little bung on the lathe and welded it into the pan. Tig welding on that thin pan was a challenge for me. It passed the leak test though, so we will mark it a victory.

No helper today. He was at school.

Clean up the wiring I did in February. I threw the LED lights on the front and wired them super ghetto just to have them for KOH.

I yanked everything out and did it the right way. Added two extra auxiliary circuits while I was there. Blue Sea fuse box, bus bar, tons of wire, terminals, shrink wrap and about a million zip ties.

The garage helper was super busy building too. Little dude was super proud of himself for building this. He also helped me sort the new tool roll/Jeep tools.

Hoping to make it to the clean up in Barstow next month. Fingers crossed it all works out.

Took the boy for his 1st real day trip in the Jeep today. He fucking loved it. Headed to Gorman since it’s close to me. The rain made for fun time. He kept asking me to go faster and never complained once. His smiles were worth every penny spent and all those hours in the garage.

That’s fuckin’ awesome! I want to smash the like button with a sledgehammer!!!

One of the funniest truck memories my older son and I have played out like this:

2004ish~
It snowed 15” in Yucaipa. It was just the two of us at home in the afternoon because my ex was a night shift RN.

We built a 7ft tall snowman in the cul-de-sac and then decided to smash around town through the snow in my 85 4Runner because all the pussies were “snowed in”.

We slid all around town through the virgin snow and laughed our asses off. We drifted through our ‘hood and blasted back toward the cul-de-sac.

As we powerslid around the corner toward the entrance to my street, the 7’ tall snowman appeared.

Me: “Should I hit the snowman?”
Son: “Yeeesss!!!!”
Me: ***evil cackling with the 22RE bouncing off the rev limiter*** “Hahahaha here we go!”

We fucking plowed into the huge snowman at a solid 25mph. My cattle guard-style early 2000’s prerunner bumper decapitated the snowman and his head slammed into the windshield with a satisfying THUD and then careened out-of-sight over the roof of the 4runner. We slid to a sideways stop half way up my driveway and wheezed as we exploded into tumultuous laughter.

We both still double over with laughter when we relive the experience.

Making fun memories with our kids is awesome.

Keep it up.
