I'd say that it is. Or at least certainly a lot grippier than powdercoat when it's got water on it. Probably not as grippy as grip tape though.
Based on this, I vote grip tape.

Nothing worse than false footing gripness on a shin buster.

Problem I see with the grip tape is it will require much more maintenance to keep looking the same caliber as the rest of the truck.
Good point, It gets dirty and old looking quick if you use it!

Can I change my answer?

That's my feeling on the griptape as well. I'll likely go Linex on top, although not today. They weren't gonna be able to get it all done in one day with everything else, so probably gonna do the bumper a little later on down the road. To say I'm excited to see the truck with fresh LineX in the bed is an understatement. Gonna look so damn clean.
