The company I work for bought their shop from a machinist who made aviation parts, the shop came with a full machine shop, aluminum scraps and old tools from the previous owner. I was doing some cleaning this morning and came across this object, if anyone knows what it is or does, any info would be appreciated

They could he used to space up a rotary table or vise, setup a large ungainly part for CMM inspection, or hold down E-size drawings on a granite surface plate.

I've always called those "Parallels" and they're typically ground flat and square within a fraction of a female nether region hair. (.0003 or less)
Great for all the things previously mentioned.
